About GNPC

The Great Notley Photography Club (GNPC) is not a traditional photography club as it has members from 12 years old to 60+ and a roughly equal number of male and female members. We meet all year round and have a busy and wide ranging, calendar of activities, so there is always something going on for anyone who has a digital camera. We cater for raw beginners to professional photographers and pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming club.

The emphasis of the club is about fun and learning, with a focus on the end result more than on the camera equipment used. The activities are available all year round and include photographic days out, monthly informal competitions, inter club competitions (new), educational presentations and regular monthly workshops, which offer the opportunity to learn whilst doing or watching. The club also has a few special interest, sub groups, one of the most popular being our newly formed “Strobist Group” for off camera flash work. We are also affiliated to the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies.

No matter what your specialist interest, be it landscape, portraiture, sport, wildlife, macro or architecture photography, there will be an activity or something of interest. We also have regular workshops on post processing software, lighting, mounting, portraiture and listen carefully to our members requests for future topics. If we don't have the knowledge within the club we are happy to approach outside experts to talk on the topic

You can attend two club meeting nights at the Great Notley Community Centre before you will be asked to be a member, so you have time to see if it is for you. After the meeting, club members walk next door to socialise at the Essex Cricketers pub, so you will get plenty of opportunity to get to know a few people.
